Some pictures mean everything to me. It isn’t all nostalgia. I like thinking about how people were/are. This picture of my Dad encompasses everything. It mostly has to do with the time in our lives that it was taken. It reminds me of his flaws and his mistakes and this ridiculous love he has always shown me.

I didn’t know my Dad’s dad but when my Granny died a couple months back, my Dad talked to the funeral home director about giving me this old thing. He gave me this statue that he had taken from my Grandfather’s law office when he died in 1982 - I never knew him. The statue is kind of ridiculous but I love having anything from his old law office. You can bet your ass it will be in mine. Pretty awesome. “Sue the Bastards”
